RHP Tim Hudson and the Braves agreed to a three-year deal that will pay him a guaranteed $28 million, with another $500,000 to be added if he pitches 600-plus innings from 2010 to 2012. The Braves hold a $9 million option for 2013, with a $1 million buyout. After missing most of the 2009 season following Tommy John elbow surgery, Hudson returned to finish strong. He made seven starts and went 2-1 with a 3.61 ERA. |

Hudson has agreed to a new three-year contract with the Atlanta Braves. Advice: Hudson could have returned to the Braves under a $12 million mutual option, but the two sides focused on talks for a longer deal after the right-hander showed he had overcome major elbow surgery. They worked out a deal through 2012, with a club option for 2013. Terms of the new contract are not yet available. |
