RHP Mariano Rivera has still not been scheduled for surgery to repair the torn ACL in his right knee, as the pitcher continues to strengthen his leg before undergoing the operation. "Doing a lot of therapy and all that stuff, so I'm feeling better," Rivera said. "The pain is more tolerable." Rivera expects to be ready to return in 2013.

A date for Rivera's ACL surgery has still not been determined, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Recommendation: Rivera will undergo the procedure at some point, but doctors are waiting for the blood clot in his leg to clear and hoping he can regain some flexibility in the joint before setting a date. Holding off on the surgery won't make the injury any worse, but it could push back a potential return to action whenever the recovery process is complete.
