Big League Stew - MLB

ARLINGTON, Texas — After letting the fine folks in San Francisco have their fun, fans of the Texas Rangers are finally getting a turn with the wonders of the World Series. The start of Game 3 is about to kick off and Rangers Ballpark is quickly filling up with people clad in either red or blue. There's a giant Texas flag waiting to be unfurled in the center field batter's eye and President George W. Bush is in the house. (He'll throw out the first pitch with his presidential pops before Sunday's Game 4). If it weren't for Justin Bieber waiting in the wings to ruin the whole scene, I'd say it was all making up for a picture-pefect postcard.

I took a few pictures upon arriving this afternoon, including these two young Rangers fans who refused to be intimidated by Brian Wilson(notes) or the rest of the Giants.

Check out the rest of the photos below:

There are a decent amount of Giants fans in the area, most of them sporting beards.

Claws and antlers t-shirts = Red gold, Texas tees

Blogger truth No. 632: If a building is wearing a hat, there's a picture to be taken.

Ron Washington seems to have achieved icon/guru status here in the Metroplex, but will these two still be wearing these shirts if Neftali Feliz(notes) stays in the bullpen again?

It's not quite Milwaukee, but there's a good tailgating scene down here in Texas.

And if they play their cards right, they can party all through the night for the Cowboys-Jaguars game, which starts at noon on Sunday.

But these people had a lot of nerve to set up their tailgate spot just outside my accomodations for the weekend.

Oh, who am I kidding? That mini-trailer was much too nice. Here's where I'm really staying.

Rangers Ballpark features several important moments in Texas history. Here the Rangers visit Cleveland on Ten Cent Beer Night.

It may be Nolan Ryan's street and special day, but a reminder that we're all living in Jerry Jones' world is never far away.

He may be drawing a paycheck from the Giants these days, but the Will Clark banner apparently gets to stay.

Finally, here's a Cadillac dealership I passed on my way over. You know the Rangers bandwagon is filling up when ever the creepy bronze nuclear family is sporting Texas caps.
