Mayor Richard M. Daley has been a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, but he's apparently not even safe from his miniscule approval rating of 31 percent when he's taking in a game at U.S. Cellular Field. Watch above as hizzoner almost gets hit by a bat — though not one of Mark Teahan's flaming varieties — that flies from the hands of Andruw Jones(notes) during Wednesday night's 6-5 win over the Seattle Mariners.
Considering this is Jones' first year with the White Sox, I'm not sure what exact beef the outfielder might have with City Hall. But as a Chicagoan I'm going to guess it has something to do with the ridiculous new parking meters that Daley brought into town. You know, the ones that inexplicably don't take dollar bills, cost almost as much as a parking garage spot and are conveniently located two blocks down from where you parked?
Yeah, those ones. Here's hoping Jones isn't on the receiving end of any equine-related retaliation after messing with the man at the top of Chicago's machine.
