Under-fire Blackburn manager Steve Kean is convinced he still has the backing of his players despite a dismal season overshadowed by fan unrest and relegation. Kean has again been forced to defend his position after a letter from deputy chief executive Paul Hunt to owners Venky's calling for his removal surfaced in the media. But while Rovers' relegation from the Barclays Premier League was confirmed after defeat by Wigan on Monday, Kean claims his players went down fighting, saying: "I think the way the team has played in every game will show that our dressing room is very tight. We are disappointed but we gave it a really good fist of it."
