1. Pick on the back
The theme this week is great defense and special teams. Our first incredible play on defense comes from Cincinnati Bengals safety George Iloka, who was defending a deep pass against the Minnesota Vikings and somehow made the interception despite the ball popping up in the air and Iloka ending up on his back.
2. Weddle tip drill
Try to figure out exactly how San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle comes down with this acrobatic pick after he tips the ball twice to himself but still finds a way to haul it in while falling to the ground.
3. Gut shot
The Detroit Lions can blame turnovers for missing the playoffs. This Matthew Stafford interception went right into the gut of New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, who catches the bullet pass.
4. Smith’s shot put
Good pressure from Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis helps force this interception from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith, but watch as Smith’s hand (fist?) go forward and end up in the hands of Colts linebacker Jerrell Freeman.
5. Quite a fake
Pittsburgh Steelers-Green Bay Packers might have been the most entertaining game of Week 16, and the Steelers were able to hang on and win because of plays such as this. Watch punter Mat McBriar throw a pretty nice pass to a wide open David Paulson for 30 yards.
