Free agent tight end Dustin Keller has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Keller began his visit with the Dolphins on Thursday before reaching a deal on Friday morning. Miami was in the market for a tight end after losing Anthony Fasano to free agency. Fasano, who led the Dolphins with five touchdown receptions in 2012, signed a four-year, $16 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this week.

A one-year deal should motivate Keller to secure a longer contract in next year's free agent market after posting just 28 receptions for 317 yards and two touchdowns in eight games during an injury-shortened 2012 season.

Originally selected by the New York Jets with the 30th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Purdue, Keller has 241 receptions for 2,876 yards with 17 touchdowns in 72 games with Gang Green. Keller's production steadily increased throughout his four seasons in the league, during which time he did not miss a game. If he stays healthy over a full season, Keller would provide Ryan Tannehill with another reliable receiving target alongside wide receivers Mike Wallace, Brian Hartline and Davone Bess.
