Jerry Jones admitted Johnny Manziel was highest rated on Cowboys' board

Do we applaud Jerry Jones or decry him?

The Dallas Cowboys owner admitted that the team had Johnny Manziel as the highest-rated player on the team's board when it was their choice in Round 1 on Thursday.

This is hardly stunning news, as it was tough for word of Jones' love for Manziel to not get out. Jones showed some terrific patience and restraint by not taking Manziel — and inviting what would have been an even bigger circus to Dallas — and going instead with blue-collar offensive lineman Zack Martin.

Even Manziel admitted that perhaps Johnny Dallas was not meant to be.

“I don’t know if the world could have handled that, honestly,” Manziel said.
But is Jones above reproach for not sticking with his board? What if Tony Romo re-injures his back or fades quickly in the next year? And, gulp, what if Manziel becomes a star with the Browns?
It's all up for conjecture from now on.
