Carlos Gomez robs Joey Votto of a home run with a great catch — again

Stop us if you're heard this one before. Carlos Gomez of the Milwaukee Brewers made a great leaping catch to rob Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds of a homer. No, no, we're not talking about last year. It happened again. On Thursday.

It was in the first inning of the Brewers-Reds game, but Gomez was, once again, psyched to crawl the wall and take away a homer, while Votto was, once again, left in disbelief. Here's his reaction. Second time around, Votto had to give Gomez some props.

The other time this happened was last July, but the stakes were much higher. That was in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and the Brewers clinging to a one-run lead. How's that for a game-clinching catch?

That catch eventually turned into a Carlos Gomez bobblehead that the Brewers recently released. It's really the best possible Gomez bobblehead, since he's stolen a league-leading six homers since the start of last season, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

For 2015, The Stew suggests the Reds and Brewers coordinate their bobblehead efforts and release a set — a leaping Gomez and a stunned Votto. Think of how collectors would chase them.
