The Atlanta Braves were careful not to injure Chipper Jones after the over-the-hill third baseman rounded the bases after his walk-off homer in Wednesday's wild 15-13 win over the Philadelphia Phillies in 11 innings. No, seriously: Chipper was carefully ushered into home plate like he was a newly arrived dolphin at an aquarium or something.

Catcher Brian McCann, however, did not walk away from his own home run unscathed. After hitting a grand slam off Roy Halladay in the fifth inning, McCann was greeted at home plate by Michael Bourn, who unintentionally stuck one of his fingers into his teammate's eye.

Watch the high-five gone wrong here:

Bourn, of course, didn't mean it and McCann told Dave O'Brien of Atlanta Journal-Constitution that happened "in the moment."

But as Larry Brown Sports points out, there's a small amount of worry to be had because McCann has battled vision problems related to laser surgery in the past. McCann — who was visibly grimacing on the way back to the dugout — said he was a little concerned at first, but shook it off and played the rest of the game at Turner Field.

A trip to the eye doctor on Thursday morning ruled that the only damage sustained was a scratch and McCann will get a chance to heal that up on the bench as backup David Ross makes a scheduled start for the series finale against Philadelphia.

That should give McCann plenty of time to test the gear for his next trip around the bases.
