A group of burn prevention organizations has launched a campaign to prevent scalding injuries in children.
Hank: Dear Mr. Trump, stop blaming the Democrats as you are the boss now. Why are you trying to charge our ally in South Korean who keeps things in check. I would be giving them free weaponry. Please let the things swirl around in your head before you say them. Look at Israel for example. Surrounded on all sides by this and that. We should be giving them stuff for FREE. Think about it this way.... it may be lost on you. What part of strategy don't you understand?
After the 2016 NFL Draft, many thought the Pittsburgh Steelers would come in and knock it out of the park again this time around. However, selecting USC wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster in the second round doesn’t exactly scream impact player for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. Don’t misunderstand, Smith-Schuster is a very good football player. He’s got nice size and does remind one of former Steeler Hines Ward with his physical style of play. He’s a strong blocker and very capable of getting big yards after the catch. He’s not going to get separation on defensive backs and because of that, he creates very small windows to throw into. But all the analysis aside about his game, the real analysis
In the wake of ESPN’s mass firings, news of which continued into Thursday, some joked that it might be easier to list network employees who weren’t fired. Others took the next step by pointing out certain ESPN figures who they would have preferred to see laid off. Given that Stephen A. Smith is arguably ESPN’s best-known personality and, less arguably, its most polarizing, it was inevitable that his would be a prominent name pointed out by those arguing that, if the network had to let some people go, he should have been among them. It was also inevitable, given Smith’s personality, that he would use one of his platforms to fire back. On his ESPN radio show Thursday, Smith took issue with one
Avery Bradley scored 23 points, and the hot-shooting Boston Celtics pounded the Chicago Bulls 105-83 to win their first-round series 4-2 on Friday night. The top-seeded Celtics simply torched Chicago to finish off a tougher-than-anticipated series and advance in the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Boston regrouped after dropping the first two games at home and will meet Washington in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Yankees have defied the odds throughout the first month of the season — never more so than on Friday night. Storming back from what had been an eight-run deficit, they won their third straight game when Matt Holliday crushed the Yankees’ fifth homer of the night in the bottom of the 10th to complete a wild comeback in a 14-11 victory over the Orioles in The Bronx. Aaron Hicks started the rally with a leadoff walk against Jayson Aquino, who then walked Kyle Higashioka — who had been trying to bunt. That brought up Chase Headley, who struck out. But Holliday made sure that didn’t matter when he hit his third homer of the season to end the game. After giving up just one run in their two wins
New 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was so close to becoming new Saints linebacker Reuben Foster that he was on the phone with Saints officials making plans to go to New Orleans when he got the call informing him he was heading to San Francisco. “I clicked over for the San Francisco 49ers and I think I said, ‘Hello?’ while the New Orleans Saints were still on the line. But I wanted to be a 49er so bad,” Foster said today. Foster said that while the Seahawks were on the clock with the 31st pick, the Saints informed him that they were taking him 32nd. When 49ers General Manager John Lynch called, Foster initially thought Lynch was calling to tell him that the 49ers would take him in the second round,
The Chicago Bears came under fire during the first round of the NFL Draft for giving up three extra draft picks just to move up one spot to draft North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Using those values, the four picks given up by the Bears were worth nearly 2,000 points. The No. 2 pick they received in return was worth just under 1,000, meaning they paid a net price of almost 700 points worth of draft picks.
Kevin Shattenkirk is new to the Capitals-Penguins rivalry. As a trade deadline acquisition, he has only been with the Caps for about two months. He has not built up a lifetime of hatred for Pittsburgh as have most Caps fans, he does not have painful memories of the series in 2009 or 2016, he has not even had a regular season to accept that fact that he now must hate the Penguins instead of the Chicago Blackhawks like he did in St. Louis. Instead, Shattenkirk brings his own rivalry to this second-round matchup, a personal one between himself and Penguins forward Nick Bonino. “We've battled for years in many different ways,” Shattenkirk said. “In practices, on the golf course, there's plenty of
Honda Formula 1 chief Yusuke Hasegawa has defended the decision to redesign its power unit layout for 2017 despite suffering a number of reliability and performance issues at the start of the season. Entering its third year since returning to F1 as an engine supplier, Honda looked to make gains by revising the layout of its power unit to mirror that of pace-setter Mercedes. The decision appeared to backfire, though, with a lack of both performance and reliability leaving customer team McLaren frustrated and without a single point after three races.
Two days after Ben Crane was publicly accused of not paying up on a golf bet by former PGA Tour pro Tom Gillis, it appears the bizarre incident has been resolved. It all started when Gillis called out Crane on Twitter Tuesday, claiming Crane owed $6,000 to Gillis's friend -- another unnamed Tour pro -- after losing a putting contest at the Phoenix Open earlier this year.
8,018 days (otherwise known as 22.9 years) have passed since Tottenham Hotspur last finished above Arsenal in the Premier League. Secondly, the time to reset that clock is nearly upon us, as Tottenham take a 14-point lead into Sunday’s North London derby (Watch live, 11:30 a.m. ET, on NBCSN and NBCSports.com) — perhaps the final one to be played at White Hart Lane. With Arsenal having only five games left to play after Sunday, a 17-point deficit would be mathematically impossible to overcome, and would guarantee Spurs’ first PL finish above Arsenal since the spring of 1995.
After not picking in the first and second rounds of the 2017 NFL draft, the New England Patriots traded back, instead of picking with their top pick at No. 72. They sent picks Nos. 72 and 200 to the Tennessee Titans for picks Nos. 83 and and 124. The Titans selected receiver Western Kentucky Taywan Taylor. Here’s how Twitter reacted to Patriots trading back, like the often do.

With all the off-days in the season's opening month, it's given the Cubs an opportunity to tinker with their rotation. They're shaking things up with the order again ahead of the three-game set against the Red Sox in Boston. The Cubs will roll with Jake Arrieta Friday on CSN, John Lackey Saturday and Kyle Hendricks Sunday. Hendricks just threw Tuesday night in the second game of the Pirates series in Pittsburgh. He enjoyed the best start of his 2017 season, allowing six baserunners in six shutout innings, lowering his ERA to 4.50 and WHIP to 1.27. Despite the strong start, the 2016 MLB ERA leader wasn't willing to say he's "back." "It's just one start," he told reporters Tuesday night. "It's
Dennis Schroder is averaging 24.4 points and 7.2 assists this postseason. Dennis Schroder was back home in Germany, riding around in his car last summer when his cellphone started ringing incessantly and the text messages flooded in at such an alarming rate that he had to pull over. Schroder checked his Instagram account and immediately understood the hysteria: The Atlanta Hawks were dealing Jeff Teague to the Indiana Pacers, meaning that the starting point-guard spot that Schoder so desired, and shamelessly declared should be his, was suddenly going to belong to him.
Chris Stroud knew something was going on with his ball when he lined up a birdie putt from just off the green at No. 8 Thursday at the Zurich Classic. The ball was on a downslope and appeared to be moving ever so slightly, then it magically rolled onto the green. Stroud made the birdie putt from the new position, and he teamed with Brian Stuard for a 4-under 68.
In response to the ESPN report that the Vikings likely won’t pick up quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s fifth-year option before the May 3 deadline, NFL Media reported that it won’t matter, if Bridgewater spends the full season on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, that’s currently a very, very big if. Bridgewater is currently not expected to spend the entire season on the PUP list. Which means that his contract would definitely expire after the 2017 season, if the Vikings don’t pick up the option. Even if Bridgewater doesn’t exit the PUP list in 2017, it’s still not entirely clear that Bridgewater’s four-year contract automatically would extend
Earlier this month, the Los Angeles Kings promoted Mike Futa to assistant general manager. Because it’s now being reported, via a Kings spokesman, that the Sabres have been granted permission to speak with Futa about their GM vacancy. Futa was once thought to be heir apparent to Dean Lombardi in Los Angeles.
Terry Collins has been around long enough to know when his team is nearing a crossroads. With Thursday’s loss, the Mets have dropped six straight games and 10 out of their last 11 overall. When you combine them with the team’s previous injuries and new injury concerns for Noah Synergaard and Yoenis Cespedes, that’s when resignation, panic and even a reliance on excuses might begin.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has called on his former club to find a solution regarding David de Gea's future or risk encountering a "big problem" with him in the summer transfer window. De Gea has long been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Neville, who won countless honours during his time at Old Trafford, does not think the 26-year-old will be easy to replace. De Gea was not stringently tested during his side's 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Thursday evening (27 April) but managed to maintain his composure and quash any attempts to breach his goal.
Packers General Manager Ted Thompson traded out of the first round last night, landing the No. 33 pick in a deal with the Browns and then let the football world he was open to trading back again to kick off the second round. According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, that’s not the only option the Packers are considering. Rapoport reports that Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer is in play to be picked by Green Bay when the draft resumes on Friday night. There would seem to be a link between that report and Thompson’s comments. If you were trying to build a trade market for a pick, there are worse ways to do it than trying to get people to believe that you’re going to take one of
Trea Turner has been a catalyst for the Washington Nationals since his call up last season, but Wil Myers and Steven Souza havent been too bad themselves. The San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays and Washington Nationals are each at very different points in their contention windows. San Diego is just beginning its flurry of offseason moves orchestrated by newly hired general manager A.J. Preller, in an effort to push the Padres into the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
The Celtics closed out the Bulls with 3-point shooting and balanced offense. Many NBA playoff series end as they begin. Just nine days after the Bulls jetted back home up 2-0, nine days after the Celtics looked thoroughly inferior in a Game 2 defeat, and nine days after talk of an 8-over-1 upset crescendoed, the series between the Celtics and Bulls instead ended with a whimper.
