Statesman journalists nominated for 2022 Best of Austin awards

The Austin Chronicle on March 31 opened voting for its annual Best of Austin honors. The American-Statesman and its staff scored several nominations in the politics and media categories.

The Statesman is nominated for best print publication in the city, competing against publications including the Chronicle. Staff members nominated for Best of Austin honors are:

  • Investigative reporter Tony Plohetski for best journalist

  • Austin360 editor Eric Webb for best film critic

  • Restaurant writer Matthew Odam for best food writer

  • Visual journalist Jay Janner for best photographer

Plohetski, Webb, Odam and Janner have all won multiple awards in the past for their work covering the Austin community.

Voting is open through April 18. The winners of the 2022 Best of Austin awards will be announced by the Chronicle on May 20. Go to vote.austinchronicle.com to cast your ballot.
