Raiders' Donald Penn on aging in NFL: 'You have to listen to your body'

After organized team activities this week, Oakland Raiders left tackle Donald Penn met with media where he opened up on what it is like to be entering his twelfth NFL season at 34-years old. “You have to listen to your body,” said Penn. “You have to rest when it’s time to rest.” Penn then offered some specifics on his regimen for days off which included plenty of TV, a massage sprinkled in, ice baths and anything Penn might find relaxing. Young Raiders players would be wise to listen, watch and learn as much as they can on how Penn takes care of his body. After all, Penn has yet to miss a regular season game in his entire NFL career to date. Understanding that Penn has given the team the best

Raiders' Del Rio on Amari Cooper: 'He'll continue to ascend' in 2017

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper came into the NFL already determined to be great and has worked to take each week as a learning experience during his young career. Forecasting a bright future for a receiver such as Cooper seems like a no brainer considering that despite not yet turning 23-years old (Cooper’s birthday is June 18), the former Alabama product has already amassed 155 receptions for 2,223 yards and 11 touchdowns. Among the very few concerns surrounding Cooper’s play is his waning production down the home stretch of each his first two NFL campaigns. Through the first eight weeks of 2016, Cooper was averaging approximately seven catches and 98 receiving yards per game, but saw that average dip south four receptions and 45 yards per contest from game nine on.
