Nets to sit Kyrie (face) in China

Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving will sit out Saturday's exhibition game against the Los Angeles Lakers in China.

Irving aggravated a facial fracture in Thursday's game, going to the bench 66 seconds into the game after an inadvertent blow to the face from Lakers guard Rajon Rondo. Irving was reaching around Rondo, attempting to poke away the ball when he stopped, removed his mask and signaled to the bench he was hurt.

Irving was wearing a protective mask due to a facial fracture suffered in training camp.

The 27-year-old signed a four-year deal with the Nets in July.

Guard Caris LaVert is questionable for Saturday's game after leaving Thursday's game with an eye injury.

Spencer Dinwiddie will start in Irving's place.
