Playing without Harper for the fifth straight game, the Phillies lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 before 30,025 fans at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night. Six Dodgers pitchers combined to hold Philadelphia to seven hits. Los Angeles closer Craig Kimbrel struck out Odubel Herrera swinging with two runners on for the final out.
The Dodgers and Phillies met up for the second time in as many weeks when they opened a three-game series on Friday night at Citizens Bank Park. This go-around, the Dodgers’ pitching staff was able to shut down the Phillies’ offense for a 4-1 victory. Three of the four runs in the game, and for the Dodgers, came in the first two innings.
Out since April 6 with a fractured wrist, Phillies outfielder Mickey Moniak began a rehab assignment Friday night with Clearwater and went 2 for 3 with a double and a triple.
