There's been a lot of news about the drama surrounding James Corden and his ban from New York City restaurant Balthazar. If you're not up to speed, the Late Late Show host was banned by Balthazar's owner on Monday. Plenty has happened following news of the ban, so here's everything you need to know.

Why Was James Corden Banned From Balthazar?

On Monday, Balthazar owner Keith McNally shared an Instagram post blasting Corden for his "abusive" behavior at the Soho restaurant. "James Corden is a Hugely gifted comedian, but a tiny Cretin of a man. And the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers since the restaurant opened 25 years ago. I don't often 86 a customer, to today [sic] I 86'd Corden," McNally wrote.

He then provided two examples of Corden's mistreatment of Balthazar staff. The first incident involved Corden demanding free rounds of drinks after allegedly spotting a piece of hair in his food. And during the second incident, Corden reportedly berated a server over a mix-up involving his wife's egg yolk omelet (lol).

Is James Corden Still Banned From Balthazar?

Well, it appears that Corden's Balthazar ban may have been the shortest ban in the history of celebrity bans, because as of Tuesday it has been lifted. In a separate post on Instagram, McNally explained that the talk show host gave him a phone call and "apologized profusely."

"I strongly believe in second chances...Anyone magnanimous enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar," McNally wrote.

McNally's ban reversal didn't quite sit well with his social media followers. Many commenters on the Instagram post asked why he backtracked and also questioned if Balthazar staff had received an apology directly from Corden.

I'm Much Nicer Than James Corden. Can I Go To Balthazar?

Yes you can! Despite being a celebrity hot spot, Balthazar accepts reservations from anyone. And once you make it to the French brasserie, you'll find a menu that includes dishes like escargots, duck liver mousse, roasted king salmon, and lobster spaghetti. And if nothing looks good, there's alway the off-menu egg yolk omelet.
