Ormond Beach man, 53, dies after truck strikes tree near Destination Daytona
An Ormond Beach man died after his pickup struck a tree, troopers said.
The 53-year-old was traveling northbound on U.S. 1 near Destination Daytona Lane when, for unknown reasons, the 2006 Toyota truck left the roadway and hit a tree shortly before 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which troopers are investigating.
