Superstition Fire crews were sent to the scene of a blaze after receiving reports of an explosion in an unincorporated area of Pinal County, officials reported.

In a tweet sent out by Apache Junction police, officials described multiple jurisdictions working to address "a large fire and explosion" near McDowell Boulevard and Ironwood Drive.

Fire Chief John Whitney of the Superstition Fire and Medical Department confirmed the incident did not cause any injuries and occurred on a residential lot.

"It ended up being a shed fire and a car fire," Whitney said. "We don't know where it started, the shed or the car, but there were no injuries and the incident is still under investigation."

No further details were made available.
