D Tom Preissing has been placed on waivers and will be sent to Lake Erie in the American Hockey League if he isn't claimed. Preissing had one assist and a minus-6 plus/minus rating in four games.

Recommendation: He may go unclaimed on the way down, but if the Avs decide to bring him back through re-entry waivers, Preissing could be claimed for half of his remaining salary by any interested team.
