NBA - Scoop Du Jour

The Houston Rockets were unable to trade forward Jared Jeffries(notes) before the deadline Thursday, so the team has agreed to buy out the rest of his contract that expires this summer, according to the New York Post.

When that happens, the 6-11 Jeffries may be returning to the New York Knicks, which lost 7-1 Timofey Mozgov(notes) in the Carmelo Anthony(notes) trade. The Post reports that Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni said he thought Jeffries fit in as the perfect defensive glue-guy last season before he was traded to the Rockets so the Knicks would have the space available to sign Tracy McGrady(notes).
