For just a couple of months this summer, Charlotte Bobcats fans got to dream about 6-11 center Erick Dampier(notes) playing for their team, but then he was waived on Sept. 14 and is now a free agent.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the Mississippi native who spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks is likely down to two teams: the Miami Heat and the Houston Rockets.
Dampier met with Rockets coach Rick Adelman on Monday and will be back in the Rockets complex Tuesday to work out for the team, the paper reports.
He also has a workout scheduled with the Miami Heat.
