Kosuke Fukudome's downfall has led to booing at Wrigley Field, and now he's getting no respect.

Passengers at O'Hare Airport were surprised to hear his name being paged over the public address system in Terminal B on Friday morning.

But it turned out that it was all a joke.

"Paging Kosuke Fukudome, paging Kosuke Fukudome ... Please report to the Cincinnati Reds. You have been traded for a player to be named later."

Some of the passengers waiting for flights laughed, while others cringed.

Either way, it looks like Chicago's love affair with the Japanese star is officially over.

Yeah! Everyone in Chicago thought the cubs could just toss their jerseys on the field & win.....I watched the games in amusement. By the looks on the faces in the stands, it looked like somebody farted.

I went to Wrigley earlier this season. It is a great ballpark, but it has the most rude and obnoxious fans on the face of the planet. Go...Go..White Sox and whoever plays the Cubs!

    Lol
This is no different than the way the Yankees treated A-Rod 2 years ago. I do feel for the Cubbies, they are playing worst than the Brewers. At least with the Brewers you expect them to make errors, walk people and not hit. I sure was hoping to see the Cubbies break the curse. Maybe it might actually be the Rays year, but first they have to get past my Beloved Red Sox.

with the Yankees out, I was kinda pulling for the cubs, hoping that they could finally get a WS under their belt. I was almost sure that they would at least take care of business in the N.L. and have to play their hearts out if they were to face an A.L. team (Red Sox ) but that don t look like its going to happen now,

I livei n Chitown and this guy is a huge dissappointment. Hes a 250 hitter making 12 million who cant hit a curve or anything up in the zone. Try watching him on a daily basis -this guy is a nightmare and rally killer.

This guy is offically the new scapegoat. He joins the company of the black cat, and Steve Bartman...why? Because he didn't hit?????
What about the rest of the lineup? No one else is hitting either. Soriano swings at anything you throw at him.
Such as shame that the Cubs fan treat him like this. Players from Japan should try to enter the majors with teams that don't face this kind of pressure. i.e. Iwamura of the Rays. When you don't pressure your players, they play more relaxed.

C'mon Cub fans, give this guy a break, let him adjust to a new club and country.
Can't fault him for this situation. Boo Sariano and Ramirez (whole team actually) same as last years fall, these 2 fall apart when the pressure is on. Lou left Dempster in too long, boo Lou too.
If we can win convincingly today, maybe we will pull out 2 more wins.

Hey burm I could see the Cubs winning 1 but I doubt they win 3 straight. If they don't lose, the beat themselves. Simple as that. Game 2 was an embarrasment and it reminded me of game 6 of the 03 NLCS

Steve I'm with you, what's with guys like Ramirez and Lee not hitting? Or when they get on, they don't move the runners. If they started on the road instead of at home, maybe the fans negative vibe wouldn't have appeared as strong as it was on the players. Game 1 the crowd was just waiting for something bad to happen, and game 2 they were all excited. Anyway one game at a time but lets win tonight and then try to tie it up tomorrow.

Well, as Cubs-101 alluded to in post 10, Cub fans have a new scapegoat. I honestly think diehard Cub fans don't want to win any titles - they seem to enjoy the whole stigma of having their dreams crushed every year. But, living in denial means needing to vent those (ahem) frustrations out on someone to save face. It reminds me of how much flak Bartman took back in 2003 when that bile should've been directed more at the team, especially shortstop Alex Gonzalez and his error on the ground ball between his legs. But no, they'd rather blame the guy who, despite a second-half slump, did *not* prevent the team from running away with the division title and landing the top seed in the NL. This whole episode exemplifies the baseball intelligence of the average Cub fan.
