MLB - Scoop Du Jour

The Oakland Athletics tried to land third baseman Adrian Beltre(notes) last offseason with a three-year, $24 million offer, but lost out to the Boston Red Sox.

It turns out that the A's lost out in a big way since Beltre went on to have a killer season, hitting .321 with 28 home runs and 102 RBIs. He also had more extra-base hits than any other third baseman in the majors with 79 and won a Silver Slugger award.

Now ESPN Deportes reports that the Athletics are trying again to obtain Beltre's services.
