Player Notes
Danny Santana went 3-for-5 with a triple, a double, a steal and three runs scored as the Twins topped the Tigers 8-4 on Wednesday.

Advice: Santana was playing center field again, even though the Twins decided to sit Eduardo Escobar (Eduardo Nunez played shortstop). The team keeps paying lip service to the idea of Santana as a shortstop, but if management believed in him there, he wouldn't be starting in the outfield so frequently. At least Santana is hitting; he has nine hits in his last four games, pushing his average back up to .324.

Danny Santana (back) is in the Twins' starting lineup on Thursday afternoon versus the Indians.

Advice: Santana missed two games because of a minor lower back strain. He'll bat leadoff and play center field in his return to action in the first half of Thursday's doubleheader in Cleveland. The rookie has a surprising .320/.358/.475 slash line with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in 84 games this season.

Advice: Santana is missing a second straight game Tuesday due to a lower back strain, but he took batting practice and will apparently be ready to roll Wednesday. The surprising rookie sports a .320/.358/.475 batting line with seven homers and 15 steals over 84 games this season.

Danny Santana (back) is out of the Twins' lineup again Tuesday against the Indians.

Advice: Santana left Saturday's game with a lower back strain and will now miss his second straight start. He took some swings on Tuesday afternoon but still felt discomfort. Jordan Schafer will bat leadoff in his absence.
