Player Notes
Daniel Norris was incredibly effective on Saturday, limiting the Rays to just one run on five hits in the loss.

Advice: Norris struck out seven and walked three in the outing. After surrendering an RBI double to Evan Longoria in the bottom of the first inning, he didn't allow another run. The Blue Jays, and Norris owners, should be thrilled to see him last seven frames, especially given recent health concerns. On Wednesday, he underwent an MRI on his left arm, as the pitcher had been complaining about "dead arm." The MRI didn't turn up anything and after a few days of treatment, Norris certainly looked sharp on Saturday. He now holds a 4.43 ERA and 1.43 WHIP over 20 1/3 innings. The southpaw will take on the Indians in his next start.

An MRI on Daniel Norris' left arm came back negative.

Advice: The Blue Jays decided to send the southpaw for a test after he complained of a "dead arm" following Sunday's start. He's fine, though, and remains in line to start Saturday versus the Rays. "Nothing was alarming," Norris said Tuesday. "It’s just a little bit of fatigue. I’ve been doing everything I can off of the field whether it’s treatment or going in and getting acupuncture and stuff — I did that today. Honestly today in my throwing program I feel a lot better. I’m encouraged right now, just throwing through it, fighting through it."

Daniel Norris told reporters Sunday evening that he is fighting through a "dead-arm phase."

Advice: Norris got roughed up for five runs -- four earned -- over just 2 2/3 innings Sunday in a loss to the lowly Braves. He now has a rough 6.08 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through three starts this year for the Blue Jays. "You can’t do anything to fix it," the 21-year-old left-hander said of his arm fatigue. "It’s just kind of, get through it."

Daniel Norris took the loss on Sunday, yielding five runs (four earned) in 2 2/3 innings versus the Braves.

Advice: The Braves got to Norris quickly, loading the bases ahead of a three-run Jonny Gomes double in the first inning. They tacked on two more in the third inning. Overall, Norris surrendered six hits with two walks and a strikeout. The lefty hasn't been sharp in any of his three starts, currently carrying a 6.08 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. Norris will try to get on the winning track in his next start in Tampa against the Rays.
