Player Notes
Brad Miller is not in the Mariners' lineup Sunday.

Advice: It's simply a day of rest. Willie Bloomquist is taking Miller's spot at shortstop Sunday, while Mike Zunino is getting a breather behind the plate in favor of Jesus Sucre.

Brad Miller went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple and a stolen base on Saturday.

Advice: He was picked off second base after the steal, so it wasn't all good. Still, it was a positive development. Now that Chris Taylor is healthy again, Miller could face competition at shortstop in two or three weeks. However, if he gets hot, the job should be his for good.

Brad Miller hit a go-ahead RBI double to push the Mariners past the A's 5-4 in extra innings Saturday.

Advice: Miller's 11th-inning double off A's reliever Fernando Abad finally iced the victory for the Mariners in a very back-and-forth game. He's batting .333/.375/.600 in five games this season and will need to continue playing well to hold off Chris Taylor (wrist) for the Mariners' starting shortstop gig.
