Player Notes
Yasiel Puig went 4-for-5 and became the first player in four years to triple three times in a game Friday as the Dodgers topped the Giants 8-0.

Advice: The Twins' Denard Span was the last player with three triples in a game, doing so against the Tigers on June 29, 2010. The next to last was Rafael Furcal in 2002. Before that, it was Lance Johnson in 1995. So, obviously, it's a very rare feat. In fact, no Dodger had done it since at least 1901. Puig now has eight triples this year, leaving him two behind teammate Dee Gordon (who also had one tonight) for the major league lead.

Yasiel Puig (hand) is in the Dodgers starting lineup on Friday.

Advice: He was forced to sit out four consecutive contests due to a bruised left hand, but was able to appear as a pinch-hitter in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates. He returns to a terrific .308/.398/.519 line with 12 homers and 52 RBI through his first 93 ballgames.

Yasiel Puig (hand) drew a walk as a pinch-hitter Wednesday in the Dodgers' loss to the Pirates.

Advice: Puig was held out of the Los Angeles starting lineup for a fourth straight game due to a bruise on his left hand. He took pregame batting practice and obviously felt good enough to pinch-hit, so his return should be imminent. The Dodgers are off on Thursday.

Yasiel Puig (hand) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup on Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: It'll be the fourth straight game that Puig has missed. He took a Joe Kelly pitch off his left hand on Saturday and is still sore. Multiple X-rays have been taken and the results were negative. Puig remains day-to-day.

A second X-ray on Yasiel Puig's left hand came back negative.

Advice: Puig is sitting out a second straight game Monday following Saturday's hit by pitch, but he's twice now been cleared of any broken bones. Consider the outfielder day-to-day.

Yasiel Puig (hand) is not in the Dodgers' lineup Sunday.

Advice: Puig had to leave Saturday's contest after being hit on the left hand by a pitch. While X-rays came back negative, he's apparently still a bit sore. Andre Ethier is in right field Sunday.

X-rays were negative on Yasiel Puig's left hand.

Advice: Puig left Saturday's loss to the Cardinals a few innings after taking a Joe Kelly pitch off the base of his left hand. He might sit out Sunday night's series finale, but the star outfielder should ultimately be fine.
