Player Notes
Chris Archer tossed 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball in the Rays' 16-1 win over the Yankees on Saturday.

Advice: It was a big bounceback outing from the 25-year-old right-hander, who was hammered for seven runs in five innings Monday by the Orioles. He stymied the Yankees offense to three hits and zero walks Saturday at Tropicana Field, striking out four batters. Archer will carry a 2-1 record, 3.65 ERA, and 1.22 WHIP into his next outing in Chicago against the White Sox.

Chris Archer was tagged for seven runs in five innings Monday in a loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Archer struck out six and walked just one, but the Orioles knocked him around for 12 hits, including five doubles. We suppose that mostly just evens things out for him posting a 1.38 ERA in his first two starts. Archer should be a solid enough mixed-league starter this year, but he's probably not going to pitch at an All-Star level.
