— Player Notes
Advice: Buxton suffered a concussion when he collided with Double-A New Britain outfielder Mike Kvasnicka last week and is still experiencing headaches as well as a stiff neck. The Twins are hopeful that he'll be ready for the Instructional League and Arizona Fall League, but his season is over. It's a rough ending to what has been an injury-plagued year for arguably the top prospect in baseball, as Buxton hit just .234/.307/.395 across 31 games between High- and Double-A.Rotoworld
Advice: The Twins prefer him at Fort Myers where they can easily monitor his progress. The Twins still expect him to return before the conclusion of the minor league season, but that will be entirely dependent on when he can pass his concussion tests.Rotoworld
Advice: Buxton was knocked unconscious for 10 minutes and suffered a concussion as a result of a collision with fellow Double-A outfielder Mike Kvasnicka on Wednesday. He'll obviously have to pass concussion tests before being cleared to return, but Ryan isn't ruling Buxton out for the year even though the minor league season is coming to a close soon. "He's got to go through the concussion tests, just like the major leaguers do," Ryan said. "Once a kid shows any concussion symptoms he has to go through the protocols. You have to send the results to MLB doctors."

Advice: According to Passan, a CT scan taken after the game came back negative. The Twins prospect is said to have been knocked unconscious for 10 minutes after the collision with Double-A New Britain outfielder Mike Kvasnicka. Concussions are nasty afflictions, but all in all it's a better outcome than it could have been. Buxton's 2014 may be over, though.

Advice: The game was Buxton's first since being promoted. He was taken by stretcher to an ambulance, presumably to be taken to the hospital. The Twins should update his status shortly.

Advice: Buxton has been limited to just 30 games this season due to injury and has hit only .240 with four homers at High-A Fort Myers when healthy. However, the Twins feel the top prospect is ready for a new challenge. Buxton was ranked by Baseball America as the No. 1 prospect in baseball at midseason.
