Player Notes
Byron Buxton struggled in Friday's win over the Astros, finishing 0-for-4 with a strikeout.

Advice: Hey, it could have been worse. He could have struck out four times, as he did on Thursday. The rookie is 16-for-75 with three doubles, a triple and no homers this season. The numbers have been poor to this point, but at just 21 years old, it's not a surprise that he's found tough sledding early on. Things will improve.

Byron Buxton struck out all four times he was up Thursday before being removed for a pinch-hitter.

Advice: The Twins have been awfully aggressive in pushing Buxton into the leadoff spot, but while he did OK in the first two games against the Rays, he looks more like a bottom-of-the-order guy right now. He's struck out in 16 straight games, and he's hit .225 with a 27/3 K/BB ratio in 71 at-bats overall. He's also been thrown out on two of his three steal attempts.

Thu, Aug 27 Rotoworld
Byron Buxton went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI single in Saturday's win over the Orioles.

Advice: Buxton's RBI single against the Oriole bullpen in the seventh inning snapped a 2-2 tie. He's 5-for-14 since returning to the Twin lineup on August 20. An injury to Aaron Hicks has opened up playing time for the 21-year-old phenom, who had hit .412/.444/.549 in 54 plate appearances at Triple-A since healing up from a thumb injury that sidelined him in late June. Buxton has the potential to be a legitimate impact bat down the stretch, though owners should obviously be patient if he runs into a few cold streaks along the way.
