Player Notes
Lucas Duda doubled twice and delivered a go-ahead single off Mike Dunn in the seventh as the Mets topped the Marlins 7-5 on Thursday.

Advice: The RBI single was Duda's fourth hit in eight at-bats versus left-handed pitching this season. He hit .180 (20-for-111) against southpaws last year. Obviously, eight at-bats isn't a lot to go on, but if Duda can just hold his own against left-handers, he could be an All-Star this year.

Lucas Duda went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and a solo home run in Wednesday's win against the Phillies.

Advice: Duda hit a no-doubt home run off of Jerome Williams in the fifth inning, then added an RBI double off of Justin De Fratus in the sixth. The Mets' first baseman has four extra-base hits and five RBI in his last two games, and multi-hit games in four out of his last five starts. On the season, he's carrying a .353 average in 37 plate appearances.

Lucas Duda walked, doubled twice, and knocked in three runs in five plate appearances as the Mets defeated the Phillies on Tuesday.

Advice: Duda unloaded the bases in the second inning with a double down the right field line against David Buchanan. The first baseman has yet to homer this season, but he has otherwise been hitting well with four multi-hit games and a .345 average in 29 at-bats.

Lucas Duda collected a double and a single in Saturday's loss to the Braves.

Advice: Duda finished the game 2-for-4. His double was the lone extra-base hit that the Mets managed against Braves starter Julio Teheran. Duda was in contract extension talks with New York's front office over the spring, though the sides to did not reach an agreement. Those talks will be tabled for the time being. The first baseman slashed .253/.349/.481 with 30 home runs and 92 RBI in 2014. Given that he had never hit more than 15 home runs in any single season prior to last year, it's possible that those power numbers take a dip.

Lucas Duda is not in the Mets' lineup Friday.

Advice: He's getting a breather with the club facing lefty Eric Stults, as Michael Cuddyer has moved in to play first base and John Mayberry is starting in left field. Mayberry is hitting third, making him a nice, cheap DFS play.
