Advice: Belt has been on the shelf since August 8 with a concussion. He's been doing baseball activities since Thursday and Giants manager Bruce Bochy told reporters on Saturday that he expects the first baseman to return from the disabled list sometime next week.

Advice: Belt is finally making progress in his recovery from post-concussion symptoms and said he feels good enough to pinch hit on Friday. He could rejoin the Giants lineup at some point next week.

Advice: He might be limited to pinch-hitting duty initially, but it's possible he could be ready to start. Belt was cleared for full baseball activities on Thursday and could take live batting practice as early as Friday. He has been limited to just five games since the beginning of August due to post-concussion issues.

Advice: Belt received the clearance Thursday from Dr. Micky Collins in Pittsburgh. The first baseman has already fielded some grounders and played catch this week, but he'll now be able to ramp up activities and could take live batting practice as early as Friday. Belt should be ready to go later this month if he can avoid setbacks.

Advice: Belt will be examined by Dr. Micky Collins in Pittsburgh. Just Tuesday, Belt said he didn't know "how realistic" it was to be back for postseason action, so Thursday's news will go a long way toward telling whether it is. If he is cleared, Belt could take live batting practice as early as Friday.

Advice: Belt has felt a bit better in recent days and was cleared to field some grounders and play catch Tuesday. Even if he progresses without any setbacks from here on out, the best the Giants can probably hope for is a few token games at the end of the regular season. Belt has been limited to just five games since the beginning of August due to post-concussion issues.

Advice: Belt has begun to feel better in recent days, but has been limited to light cardio work only as he continues to recover from his post-concussion symptoms. Even though he has been cleared to begin baseball activities, he's still likely a couple of weeks away from rejoining the Giants lineup.
