Wood has been officially recalled from Triple-A Iowa and will start Tuesday against Houston, the Cubs' official site reports.
Recommendation: Wood will be making just his second start of the season and first since a spot-start, no-decision on May 6, after which he was sent back down. "I've been throwing the ball pretty well down there and hopefully it translates up here and I just go out and give the team a chance to win every fifth day," said Wood, who won his last two outings in Iowa. "Hopefully, I'm able to stick around for a while this time. Whatever's going to happen is going to happen." Wood had a 4.57 ERA over 41.1 innings down in Triple-A Iowa with a 39:11 K:BB ratio.

LHP Travis Wood came up from Class AAA Iowa for the second time this season, and for the second time, he was solid. Wood didn't get a quality start against the Astros, but he fell just short, lasting 5 2/3 innings and giving up two runs. The go-ahead run came home when reliever Shawn Camp allowed an inherited runner to score. The only two hits Wood gave up came to the first two batters he faced in the game. In two starts -- Wood made an emergency start May 6 against the Dodgers -- Wood has pitched 11 2/3 innings, giving up five hits and five runs for a 3.86 ERA.
