Advice: Coghlan edged Philadelphia Phillies pitcher J.A. Happ in a close race, receiving 17 first-place votes and 105 points Monday in balloting by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. He hit .321 and scored 84 runs in 128 games for Florida.
