Detroit placed Jackson on the 15-day disabled list with an abdominal strain.
Advice: The move, retroactive to May 17, was made Thursday. Batting .331 and setting the table for Detroit's power hitters, Jackson has been out since he got hurt on a swing May 16. He was in the lineup Tuesday, but aggravated the injury during batting practice.

CF Austin Jackson was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday, retroactive to May 17, so 2B/OF Ryan Raburn could rejoin the team off the bereavement list. Jackson hurt an abdominal muscle on May 16 and tried without success to return May 22.
He felt tightness during batting practice and while running, so Detroit brought up CF Quintin Berry, who has shown he'll be at least adequate as a fill-in for another week. Jackson will be eligible to return June 1.

Jackson (abdomen) remains out of the lineup Thursday, MLive.com reports.
Recommendation: Quintin Berry will make another start in center field and lead off for the Tigers, while Jackson remains a candidate for the disabled list.
