Player Notes
Chase Headley was ejected from Monday's game against the Rays for arguing balls and strikes.

Advice: Headley objected to a strike one call from home plate umpire Marty Foster in the seventh inning and was given the heave-ho. He was playing in his first game since last week's beaning and was hitless in his first two at-bats before being ejected.

Chase Headley (mouth) is back in the Yankees' lineup Monday against the Rays.

Advice: Headley was hit in the mouth with a Jake McGee fastball on Thursday, but managed to avoid any fractures. He'll hit sixth in his return Monday.

Chase Headley (face) won't return until at least Monday.

Advice: Headley managed to avoid fractures and a concussion after being hit on the face with a pitch Thursday, but the Yankees want him to go through drills for a couple days before clearing him to return to the lineup. He worked out Saturday and will take batting practice on Sunday before possibly returning to action on Monday in Tampa.

Tests have cleared Chase Headley of any fractures.

Advice: He's not out of the woods yet, as he still needs to see a neurologist to check for a concussion, but this is one positive development after Headley was hit in the face by a pitch Thursday. He received a couple stitches as a result of the incident. Headley did not travel with the Yankees to Baltimore but could rejoin them there at some point this weekend if he's cleared of a possible concussion.

Chase Headley will stay back in New York to undergo X-rays on his jaw rather than travel with the team to Baltimore.

Advice: Headley left Thursday's game in the ninth inning after being hit in the face by a pitch. Obviously more will be known once the X-ray results come back, but expect him to miss at least Friday's game.

Chase Headley left Thursday's game against the Rays after being hit in the mouth by a pitch.

Advice: It was a 98 mph fastball from Jake McGee. Headley had some blood on his chin and eventually walked off with the assist from trainers. The Yankees will surely send him for some tests before an update comes later Thursday.
