Player Notes
Joey Votto smashed career home run No. 200 in Monday's slugfest victory over the Rockies.

Advice: Votto took Jason Motte deep in the seventh inning with a shot to right field. He also nearly had a grand slam in previous at-bat, as a drive in the fourth inning landed on the warning track and then bounced over the fence for a two-RBI, ground-rule double. Votto's production has been way down this season, as he's sporting a .213/.332/.391 batting line. However, he's hit safely in five out of his last six contests and has a couple dingers over that stretch.

Joey Votto walked and scored a run against the Mariners on Friday.

Advice: Votto is still finding ways to contribute even though he’s doing next to nothing with the bat. He has just three hits in his last 27 at-bats and while the .351 on-base percentage is nice, he’s hitting .210 with a .370 slugging percentage on the year. He hasn’t had a multi-hit game since April 29.
