Player Notes
Adam Jones hit a leadoff home run in a loss to the Twins on Thursday.

Advice: Jones jumped on the first pitch of the game from Twins starter Kyle Gibson, roping it just over the wall in left center. Jones also had a double in the game, finishing 2-for-4. The 30-year-old now has 19 homers after a slow start, batting .269/.317/.455 with 59 RBI and 63 runs scored.

Adam Jones homered and walked twice Tuesday against the Rockies.

Advice: Jones had been struggling out of the leadoff spot this month, hitting .256/.279/.317 with one homer and three walks in 82 at-bats. He's still not a great fit at all up there, but tonight's game will ensure that he keeps the spot a little while longer.

Adam Jones went 2-for-5 with two RBI and scored the game-winning run in Monday's extra-innings win over the Rockies.

Advice: Both base knocks were singles, but Jones got the scoring going with an RBI single in the second and tied things up with an RBI groundout in the seventh. He should have been thrown out in the 10th, but Jordan Lyles misfired a ball to home and Nick Hundley couldn't hang on. It's been a rough July for Jones, but he has two multi-hit games in his last three tries.

Adam Jones (back) is back in the Orioles' lineup Friday.

Advice: Jones missed Thursday's game with back spasms, but he's in center field and batting leadoff Friday. He's hitting .262/.307/.441 with 17 homers this season.

Adam Jones (back) is not in the Orioles' starting lineup Thursday versus the Yankees.

Advice: Jones was lifted in the eighth inning of Wednesday night's loss after experiencing back spasms. It's nothing serious. Julio Borbon will start in center field and hit ninth Thursday afternoon against lefty CC Sabathia.

Adam Jones was lifted in the eighth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Yankees due to back spasms.

Advice: This according to MASN's John Russell during postgame proceedings. Jones managed four at-bats before being replaced in center by Julio Borbon in the bottom of the eighth inning. Consider him day-to-day moving forward unless the team indicates otherwise. Jones is already saying that he plans on playing Thursday.
