Dodgers signed LHP Jonathan Sanchez to a minor league contract; assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Advice: Sanchez can opt out of the deal on July 1 if he is not on Los Angeles' major league roster. The 30-year-old left-hander posted an 11.85 ERA and 2.42 WHIP in 13 2/3 innings earlier this season with the Pirates. He is doubtful to pull off a sudden turnaround.
