Advice: With several teams filling their need for a corner outfielder already, the market for Cruz is diminishing by the day. The Rangers and Mariners appear to be his most likely landing spots at this point, and if his main priority is the length of the contract, that could give the M's the edge in securing another potential big bat.

Advice: The D'Backs reportedly had a three-year, $48 million offer on the table to Carlos Beltran, which was rebuffed when he signed with the Yankees, indicating they are in the market for an upgrade in the outfield. With the Yankees and Mets out of the running for his services after making high-priced free agent signings in recent days, Cruz's market seems to be cooling rapidly, and a return to the Rangers could be the most logical destination.Rotoworld
Advice: The Mets are "moving forward" in negotiations with Curtis Granderson, so Cruz may have to look elsewhere. The Orioles and Mariners have been mentioned as possibilities for the 33-year-old while the Rangers reportedly haven't ruled out a return. He is attached to draft pick compensation, so his market could be limited.

Advice: Beltran looks to be the club's top choice, but there seems to be some momentum behind him signing with the Royals. If that's the case, Cruz would make sense as a backup plan. The Bombers are also known to have interest in Jacoby Ellsbury and Shin-Soo Choo and have not ruled out re-signing Curtis Granderson.

Advice: The Orioles swapped Jim Johnson to the Athletics late Monday in what was essentially a salary dump. The expectation is that they'll use the money saved in order to address other areas of need. The club has been mentioned as a possible suitor for Carlos Beltran this offseason, but Cruz might be a more realistic target as an outfielder/DH. It's worth noting that he turned down a qualifying offer from the Rangers to test free agency, so the Orioles would have to surrender their first-round pick in order to sign him.
