Advice: The Mariners could certainly use another hitter in the middle of their lineup, so it's not surprising that they'd have interest in the 33-year-old. What's more surprising is that they feel they can afford Cruz after signing Robinson Cano and Hart already. The Rangers and Orioles remain the two other most notable suitors for the outfielder's services.

Advice: Jon Heyman of CBS Sports said the team has made an offer in the range of four years and $60 million to the 33-year-old, but multiple team sources say that's untrue. Kubatko said he was told earlier in the week that the Orioles' interest in Cruz was exaggerated.

Advice: The parameters of that offer are the same as what Curtis Granderson got from the Mets. Cruz was believed to have rejected an offer of five years and $75 million previously, but no team will confirm such an offer was made. The Mariners and Rangers are also in on 33-year-old.

Advice: The Rangers are also reportedly in talks with free agent outfielder Shin-Soo Choo, but they haven't ruled out bringing back Cruz. One advantage for Cruz is that he will likely cost significantly less. Of course, he isn't nearly as valuable as Choo, either. The 33-year-old outfielder has reportedly also drawn interest from the Mariners and Orioles, among others.Rotoworld
Advice: The report, which came from Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times Monday, never passed the smell test. The Mariners are quite interested in Cruz, but offering him a five-year, $75 million pact would be lunacy. The Orioles are also interested in Cruz, and the Mariners haven't ruled out re-signing him.Rotoworld
Advice: It's really hard to believe, both that the Mariners would offer such a deal and even more so that Cruz would turn it down. Cruz is coming off a PED suspension, hasn't well outside of Texas, will turn 34 during the season and will require the signing team to forfeit a draft pick. All of that adds up to this rumor probably being bogus, but it doesn't mean the outfielder hasn't received plenty of interest. In addition to the Mariners, the Orioles are also interested in Cruz, and the Rangers haven't ruled out re-signing him.

Advice: And the plan is for those talks to continue into the evening. The Rangers and Mariners are the other major league teams with confirmed interest in Cruz, who batted .266/.327/.506 with 27 home runs and 76 RBI in 109 games this past season for Texas. The 33-year-old was given -- and rejected -- a qualifying offer from the Rangers, so signing him requires the forfeiture of a top draft pick.

Advice: With several teams filling their need for a corner outfielder already, the market for Cruz is diminishing by the day. The Rangers and Mariners appear to be his most likely landing spots at this point, and if his main priority is the length of the contract, that could give the M's the edge in securing another potential big bat.

Advice: The D'Backs reportedly had a three-year, $48 million offer on the table to Carlos Beltran, which was rebuffed when he signed with the Yankees, indicating they are in the market for an upgrade in the outfield. With the Yankees and Mets out of the running for his services after making high-priced free agent signings in recent days, Cruz's market seems to be cooling rapidly, and a return to the Rangers could be the most logical destination.Rotoworld
Advice: The Mets are "moving forward" in negotiations with Curtis Granderson, so Cruz may have to look elsewhere. The Orioles and Mariners have been mentioned as possibilities for the 33-year-old while the Rangers reportedly haven't ruled out a return. He is attached to draft pick compensation, so his market could be limited.
