Player Notes
Nelson Cruz homered in his fourth consecutive game on Tuesday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Advice: Cruz, who finished 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, took a David Huff offering out to left field in the first inning for his fifth home run of the season. All five have come in the outfielder's last four games. Cruz has been exactly what the Mariners paid for when they signed him to a four-year, $57 million contract in December. He led the majors with 40 homers last season.

Nelson Cruz hit a pair of home runs, but the Mariners suffered a 10-inning, 6-5 loss to the Dodgers on Monday.

Advice: Cruz got the scoring started early with a two-run home run off of Brandon McCarthy in the first inning. He added a solo home run in the fourth inning to make it 3-0 at the time. Cruz, last year's home run leader, now has four home runs on the season, all of which have come in his last three games.

Nelson Cruz launched a 10th inning home run to help the Mariners pull out an 8-7 win over the A's on Sunday.

Advice: It shouldn't have even reached this point, but The Fernando Rodney Experience was a bad trip on Sunday and the Mariners found themselves playing baseball in extra innings despite holding a 7-3 lead entering the ninth. Cruz made sure the free ball didn't last long, smacking a solo home run off of Tyler Clippard and helping secure the victory. Cruz has been central to two straight extra-inning wins for the Mariners. On Saturday, he hit a three-run home run in the eighth inning. Following a 1-for-15 start to the season, Cruz is now four for his last nine with two home runs and four RBI. These are the kinds of numbers the Mariners signed him for.

Mon, Apr 13 Rotoworld
Nelson Cruz went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in the Mariners' extra-innings victory over the Athletics on Saturday afternoon in Oakland.

Advice: Cruz singled in the fourth inning, slugged a three-run bomb in the eighth inning, and then singled again in the 10th. The veteran outfielder entered the game on a 1-for-15 season-opening drought. He was signed to a four-year, $57 million free agent contract this winter to bring some needed pop to the Mariners' lineup.

Sun, Apr 12 Rotoworld
Nelson Cruz went 0-for-4 on Friday and is 1-for-15 with no RBI through four games.

Advice: There's no way Cruz is hitting 40 homers or driving in 108 runs in Seattle, but he still figures to post fine power numbers over the course of the year. It's just not clicking for the Mariners offense yet; they've scored seven runs in four games.
