LHP Rich Hill is unlikely to return for a second season in Baltimore after refusing an outright assignment to Class-AAA Norfolk. Hill, who was shut down in July with shoulder inflammation, was removed from the 40-man roster because he was due for arbitration, the Baltimore Sun reported. He could re-sign.

Hill (shoulder) refused his assignment to Triple-A and became a free agent, MASN Sports reports.
Recommendation: A reunion with the Orioles is possible, but Hill is going to test the free-agent waters to see if there's a better opportunity for him elsewhere. He's struggled to stay healthy over the last two seasons, posting a 61:58 K:BB ratio in 77.1 innings between the Cubs and Orioles around mixed results at Triple-A.
