Player Notes
Hanley Ramirez (wrist) has returned to the Dodgers starting lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Ramirez has been sidelined since Sunday, when he was drilled on the hand by a fastball from Trevor Rosenthal. The oft-injured superstar has had his share of nicks and bruises this season, but has still managed to appear in 86 games, hitting .273/.372/.463 with 11 homers and 49 RBI.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Hanley Ramirez (wrist) is still "feeling it" in his hand.

Advice: Mattingly said Ramirez hasn't swung a bat since being hit in the hand by a pitch by Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal on Sunday. He has picked a bat up and "moved it around," according to Mattingly, for whatever that's worth. He's been called day-to-day since sustaining the injury, but Ramirez hasn't been in the lineup since Sunday and the Dodgers will have to think about a DL trip if he doesn't show great improvement soon.

Hanley Ramirez (wrist) is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup Tuesday night versus the Pirates.

Advice: Ramirez was the struck by pitches on the left shoulder and wrist Sunday night in St. Louis. X-rays have been taken and came back negative, but the shortstop is still pretty sore. Justin Turner will again fill in.

A second X-ray on Hanley Ramirez's left hand came back negative.

Advice: Ramirez passed a preliminary test Sunday after exiting following a hit by pitch, but the Dodgers wanted to give him another one just in case. The shortstop is out of Monday's lineup but should be back in there soon enough.

Hanley Ramirez (wrist) is out of the Dodgers' starting lineup on Monday night against the Pirates.

Advice: Ramirez was struck by two pitches in Los Angeles' defeat of the Cardinals on Sunday night in St. Louis -- once in the shoulder and once in the wrist. He passed a preliminary test, but the Dodgers will play it safe. Justin Turner is playing shortstop on Monday.

Hanley Ramirez left Sunday night's game against the Cardinals after taking a pitch off his wrist.

Advice: It was a 99 mph fastball from Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal. Hanley also got plunked in his left shoulder earlier in the game, but a preliminary exam showed no major injuries and he told reporters late Sunday that he expects to start Monday in Pittsburgh. "We'll see," added Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.
