RHP Chris Young will take extra time between minor league starts because his wife is expecting a child. Young has made two starts for Class A St. Lucie in his rehab from right shoulder surgery, though he is not guaranteed a roster spot once he is ready to return. Because he is not officially on a rehab assignment, he is eligible to remain in the minors indefinitely.

Young (shoulder) will miss his next rehab start with the impending birth of his child, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.
Recommendation: Young has looked good in two rehab starts thus far, and still remains very much in the picture to become the Mets' fifth starter. The team is currently using Miguel Batista has the fifth starter, who has been fairly mediocre this year and for much of his career.
