CF B.J. Upton said the Rays have adopted a simple motto in dealing with the extensive run of injuries that have resulted in 10 players going on the disabled list. "The phrase we've been using is 'tread water,'" Upton said.
"You see a lot of other teams around the league that are healthy and we aren't, but at the same time we find a way to get it done. And that's what it's about."

Upton went 3-for-6 with the game-winning RBI double and his 10th steal of the year in Wednesday's extra-inning win over Toronto.
Recommendation: Upton has surprised with his ability to hit for average this season, as this game raised his mark to .300 -- something he hasn't achieved since the 2007 season. If he can maintain a solid average, Upton's deadly power-speed combo would make him one of the top players in fantasy. Of course, he's hit .240 over the last three seasons, so it's not clear whether he has the ability to maintain this average.
