May 23 LHP Jorge De La Rosa is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Thursday and start for Class AAA Colorado Springs on Sunday in Fresno and throw about 75 pitches. That start will begin a new 30-day rehab assignment for De La Rosa, who is recovering from left forearm inflammation that developed as he was recovering from Tommy John surgery. De La Rosa underwent that surgery June 3, 2011, and made four rehab starts, two each at high Class A Modesto and Double-A Tulsa. But after feeling forearm inflammation I the two starts with Tulsa, the rehab assignment was halted May 19. That assignment was scheduled to run through May 27. Yahoo! Sports

May 19 De La Rosa (elbow), who is currently rehabbing at Double-A Tulsa, will be placed back on the DL to get a new 30-day rehab window, the Rockies' official website reports.

Recommendation: The move will be made to comply with the MLB's rules for the length of rehabilitation periods, which institutes a seven-day freeze after the first 30 days of a rehab stint so teams don't abuse the privilege. De La Rosa still projects to return to the Rockies in mid-June.
