Player Notes
Zack Greinke pitched eight innings of two-run ball to beat the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Greinke gave up runs for the second straight outing, but it wasn't really so bad. He allowed five hits, walked one and struck out eight in improving to 10-2. His ERA jumped from 1.37 to 1.41.

Fri, Jul 31 Rotoworld
Zack Greinke's consecutive scoreless innings streak was stopped at 45 2/3 in Sunday's no-decision loss to the Mets in which he allowed two runs in seven innings.

Advice: Greinke still pitched well, but Jacob deGrom was even better. Greinke allowed four hits and three walks while striking out three. The Mets pushed across a run in the third on deGrom's fielder's choice ground out, which ended the streak, and again in the sixth when Michael Conforto was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Greinke has been baseball's best pitcher thus far, owning a 1.37 ERA with a 0.83 WHIP and a 120/24 K/BB ratio over 138 1/3 innings. He'll look to start a new scoreless innings streak in his next start, a home bid versus the Angels.

Sun, Jul 26 Rotoworld
Dodgers activated RHP Zack Greinke from the paternity leave list.

Advice: He'll start on Sunday versus the Mets. Greinke will be looking to extend his 43 2/3 scoreless innings streak.

Sun, Jul 26 Rotoworld
Zack Greinke will return to the Dodgers rotation on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Greinke had been scheduled to pitch on Friday, but was away on paternity leave to attend the birth of his first child. He'll take the hill on Sunday with extra rest, looking to extend his 43 2/3 scoreless inning streak.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly confirmed Friday that Zack Greinke will return to start against the Mets on either Saturday or Sunday.

Advice: Greinke was scratched from his scheduled start on Friday to be with his wife for the birth of the couple's first child. He'll look to extend his impressive 43 2/3 scoreless inning streak when he takes the hill.

Fri, Jul 24 Rotoworld
Dodgers placed RHP Zack Greinke on the paternity leave list.

Advice: Ian Thomas will start in Greinke's place on Friday with the latter attending the birth of his first child. The Dodgers are hopeful that Greinke will rejoin the rotation at some point over the weekend.

Fri, Jul 24 Rotoworld
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Thursday that he hopes Zack Greinke will be able to pitch at some point this weekend against the Mets.

Advice: Greinke was scratched from Friday's scheduled start against the Mets in order to attend the birth of his first child. "At this point, we’re hopeful that he’ll pitch here this weekend," Mattingly said. "You never know what might happen with the birth of a child. We’ll see how it goes. We feel there’s a potential of that." Ian Thomas is filling in for Greinke on Friday and Zach Lee is expected to start Saturday. Brett Anderson (Achilles) could be ready to go on Sunday, but the Dodgers could be cautious and push him back if Greinke can pitch by then. Greinke, of course, is in the midst of a 43 2/3 innings scoreless streak.

Fri, Jul 24 Rotoworld
Zack Greinke is away from the team for the birth of his first child and is unlikely to pitch Friday against the Mets.

Advice: The Dodgers have yet to make an official decision. It's unclear how long he'll be away from the team or who would replace him, but there should be more clarity soon.
