LHP Noah Lowry, 39, was placed on outright waivers, and the Giants declined his $6.25 million option, meaning he's a free agent. Lowry, who didn't appear in a game the past two seasons, hasn't been on good terms with the Giants, claiming they misdiagnosed an injury. He led the teams in wins in 2005 and 2007. |

Lowry has been removed from the 40-man roster by the Giants and will become a free agent, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Recommendation: He hasn't pitched since 2007 due to forearm, elbow, shoulder and rib injuries. He'll need to prove he's healthy this offseason to find another deal, although his agent says he's throwing three days a week without any problems. |
