Player Notes
Joe Mauer is not in the Twins starting lineup for Saturday afternoon's contest against the White Sox.

Advice: It's only the second day off on the season for Mauer, and comes in a nice spot against tough southpaw Chris Sale. Look for the Twins' team leader in RBI to be back in there at first base on Sunday.

Joe Mauer broke a 13th-inning tie with a solo home run, finishing 2-for-6 in Wednesday's win over the Pirates.

Advice: Mauer had stepped to the plate 169 times before hitting his first home run of the 2015 season. He picked a good time for it, as the solo shot to right-center broke a 3-3 tie in the 13th inning and ended up being the deciding factor in the game. Power drought aside, Mauer has compiled an otherwise productive .284/.341/.381 with 24 RBI.

Joe Mauer went 1-for-4 with a bases-clearing single as the Twins held off the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Mauer hit a weak single to the left of shortstop Jung-Ho Kang, who was playing close to the second base bag in a shift. Two runs easily scored and Dozier took advantage of Starling Marte's lackadaisical throw back to the infield, scoring the third run on the play. Mauer is still looking for his first home run on the year, but he's batting .282/.341/.362 with 23 RBI.

Joe Mauer went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Mauer got things started off well enough for the Twins, hitting a single to score Brian Dozier in the first inning. Unfortunately for the home team, it would be the only run the Twins would score until they tacked on a few ninth inning runs to make the 11-3 score look vaguely more respectable. The RBI was Mauer's 20th of the season, a very solid mark. Despite the RBI and a nice average at .283, Mauer continues to hit for a distressingly low amount of power and is slugging just .366 for the season.
