Player Notes
Coco Crisp (elbow) will not play the field during an appearance in a minor league game Tuesday.

Advice: The A's are protecting Crisp's elbow, so they'll only have him take some at-bats so he doesn't have to do any throwing. The club is still hoping to have him ready for Opening Day, but they're playing Crisp in minor league contests just in case they have to make a backdated disabled list move.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Coco Crisp (elbow) is expected to return to game action on Tuesday.

Advice: Barring any further setbacks, Melvin believes that the oft-injured outfielder will be ready to go on Opening Day. He always carries substantial injury risk, but hitting atop the A's lineup his combination of power and speed should provide ample fantasy value.

Coco Crisp (elbow) could return to game action on Saturday.

Advice: The cortisone injection he was given Tuesday for his sore right elbow must have worked, as Crisp unexpectedly did some workouts prior to Thursday's contest and could be back in the lineup Saturday. The A's are moving Crisp to left field this season in hopes of keeping him on the field, but he'll remain a health risk no matter where he plays.

Coco Crisp is expected to be sidelined for several days after a receiving a cortisone shot in his wrist on Tuesday.

Advice: The oft-injured outfielder has been battling a sore triceps for the past several weeks, with the wrist ailment just the latest in a serious of problems. The A's are going to take every possible precaution to ensure that he remains healthy. Expect him to return to game action at the end of the week.

Coco Crisp was scratched from Tuesday's Cactus League lineup due to soreness in his throwing arm.

Advice: The Athletics have been extra cautious with Crisp this spring, who deal with a sore triceps earlier this month, so they aren't going to take any chances this close to the season. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Coco Crisp went 0-for-3 as the Athletics were stomped 10-1 by the Indians on Monday.

Advice: Crisp has had 0-for-3 performances in back-to-back games. He's been slowed this spring by a sore triceps. The speedy outfielder is carrying a lackluster .133 average over 15 at-bats so far.
