Inge sat out Wednesday's game to rest his sore knee.
Advice: Tigers manager Jim Leyland told the team's official Web site that he thought about playing Inge at DH, but decided against it. Either way, this doesn't sound like anything serious and Inge should be back in the lineup Friday at Minnesota.

3B Brandon Inge will return to the lineup Friday at Minnesota after sitting out his first game of the season Wednesday. It was the first game Inge has missed this season and only the second time he was not in the starting lineup. He has been playing with a sore patellar tendon in his left knee recently and manager Jim Leyland thought a couple days off would help.

Brandon Inge will be given the day off for Wednesday's rubber match against the Oakland A's, the Tigers Official Site reports.
Recommendation: Ever the competitor, Inge told manager Jim Leyland Tuesday night that his left knee was feeling good and that he wanted to play on Wednesday. Leyland decided that it would be best to give his third baseman a rest in order to get ready for the series against Minnesota, and the Metrodome's artificial turf.
