May 17 RHP Rafael Betancourt yielded a two-run homer to Justin Upton in the ninth that gave the Diamondbacks a 9-7 victory Thursday. It was the second homer Betancourt has allowed in 15 innings this season. The other was hit by Nick Hundley of the Padres on April 17. The only other time Betancourt had been scored on was May 2, when he recorded his first blown save in eight opportunities, giving up three runs against the Dodgers, but ended up the winning pitcher when Jason Giambi hit a three-run, walk-off homer against LHP Scott Elbert. May 15 Betancourt worked around a hit and a walk to record the save Tuesday against the Giants.

Recommendation: It was Betancourt's first save since April 26 and his first opportunity since May 2. The Rockies just haven't given him many opportunities, and he's been understandably rusty. Still, he got the job done, and in a year of unstable closer situations his looks about as locked in as possible.
